SunOpta BioProcess Inc. (formerly Stake Technology Ltd.) was founded in 1973 and is the original division of the SunOpta organization. Our first technologies involved converting biomass to cattle feed. In the early 80's, our technologies advanced into the processing of cellulosic butanol from straw. Today our technologies are focused on the continued development of innovative processes for developing cellulosic ethanol, cellulosic butanol, xylitol and dietary fiber for human consumption. Our proprietary technologies are used all over the world for fuel generation and other types of biomass solutions.
