The largest operating group, SunOpta Foods, represents approximately 94% of annual revenues and specializes in sourcing, processing and distribution of natural and organic food products integrated from seed through packaged products.
SunOpta Grains and Foods Group: Organic, Non-GMO and IP soy, corn, sunflower and whole grains. Ingredients: soy, dairy and grain based. Packaged products, soymilk, consumer foods and processing services.
SunOpta Ingredients Group: Natural and organic fibers (oat, soy), fiber blends, stabilized brans (oat, wheat, corn), stabilized wheat germ, barley beta-glucan, specialty starches, ingredient systems, acid whey and contract manufacturing.
SunOpta Fruit Group: Consists of berry processing facilities and fruit base operations, that processes frozen strawberries, peaches, mangos and other fruits and vegetables, and packs natural and organic frozen fruits and vegetables for the food service, private label retail and industrial ingredient markets. The Group also includes the Healthy Snack Operations, which produces natural and organic apple-based fruit snacks
SunOpta International Foods Group: Is comprised of three operations:
- Industrial Organic Ingredients - : Is the leading manufacturer, importer and exporter of natural and certified industrial organic products including fruits, vegetables, seeds, grains, pulses, coffee, cocoa, and sweeteners with extensive strategic global sourcing and supply capabilities from operations around the world;
- Consumer Products Solutions – Sells a broad range of private label and branded natural and certified organic consumer packaged products for retail and food service customers using its extensive global supply chain capabilities; and
- Purity Life Health Products, a SunOpta Company: Canada's Largest Natural Health Products Supplier. Purity Life supplies and markets nationally to Canada’s leading health food stores, pharmacies, grocery stores and mass retailers. With over 150 brands. Purity Life offers some of the world’s leading dietary supplements, natural personal care products, teas, natural health foods, and earth friendly household goods
SunOpta Distribution Group: Fresh produce and dry, refrigerated and frozen groceries distribution throughout Canada. Organic, Natural and Kosher Specialists.
Opta Minerals Inc. (TSX: OPM – 66.4% owned by SunOpta) represents approximately 9% of annual revenues and is focused on processing and recycling of environmentally friendly industrial minerals.
SunOpta BioProcess Inc. represents approximately 1% of revenue and engineers and markets proprietary steam explosion technology systems for the pulp, bio-fuel and food processing industries.
