Food-Grade Soybeans
With over 20 years of expertise developing seeds for a variety of food applications, the SunOpta team selects the best grain variety for each use. Our soymilk and tofu beans focus on protein and bland flavor characteristics. Miso and edamame beans are selected for their sugar profile and hilum color. Roasting and soy sauce beans are selected for their protein and oil levels.
Corn
We offer waxy, yellow dent and other specialty corn varieties. Waxy corn’s starch (95% amylopectin starch) contributes unique gelling characteristics in starch production and industrial use. Yellow dent corn varieties are available for both wet and dry milling. Specialty corn varieties include certified organic, white and blue corn.
Sunflower
SunOpta Grains and Foods Group specializes in long shelf life, high oleic kernel and extra long, large inshell sunflowers. Inshell sizing includes 20/64, 22/64 and custom sizing. Kernel products include high oleic, traditional, confection, bakery, chips, chopped sizes and meal. Custom roasted and flavored products are also available.
Conditioning, Packaging & Delivery
Our processing plants utilize the latest technology, including targeted controls, full traceability programs and industry leading equipment. Product is loaded bulk, toted, bagged and delivered by truck, container and rail.
