Cleugh's Frozen Foods

Cleugh’s Frozen Foods was founded in 1931 as a rhubarb ranch and is led by 3rd generation President Michael Cleugh. Acquired by SunOpta in 2005, our team has extensive experience in the frozen fruit business. We ship approximately 100 million pounds of frozen fruit and vegetable products annually, primarily to private label retail customers.

Cleugh’s modern and well-equipped processing plants offer the technical and practical capabilities to meet any specification. Strategic locations in Orange County and the Salinas Valley in California allow Cleugh’s to process fruits and vegetables 10 months out of the year. This extended season ensures supply to all our valued customers by minimizing the impact of bad weather or adverse growing conditions.

Quality assurance begins by maintaining and monitoring strict agricultural practices in the field, and continues with rigid standards for grading and inspection at every step: harvesting, processing and packaging. Cleugh’s maintains a full-time quality assurance staff to guarantee that products meet high customer standards. Cleugh’s commitment to the specific goal of processing and packaging only the best conventional and organic frozen fruits and vegetables has proven that nothing serves the marketplace better than quality.
